How do I avoid an attack?
It begins with education and awareness. Statistics speak for themselves.
* 37 percent of all attacks against women occurred between 6 p.m. and midnight, when most women leave work, are on their way out for an evening or are on their way home.
* 53 percent of all attacks occur near home, including in private garages. This figure also includes “follow-homes.”
* 36 percent of victimization’s occur in parking garages.
* 51 percent occur in open or public areas, such as parks.
* Women who work or live in cities are considerably more vulnerable than those in rural areas.

But men are so much stronger than women...how can I defend myself?
True, some men are very much so stronger than women... But here are two factors of nature I cannot personally dispute:
#1 The Female Lioness' of the pride do the hunting.
#2 Never threaten a woman's child.
Having that in mind, it is merely a matter of techniques and understanding what a human being can and cannot do to protect themselves during a physical threat. Leverage, angles, inertia, momentum...all these things accompanied by an unstoppable attitude, will suffice to having a good edge for protecting yourself against a larger more powerful threat. In other words, that is what training is for.

What can I do to prevent from becoming a victim?
The first thing to do in preventing from being a victim is...DON'T BE ONE!!!
That statement is meant to be offensive and shocking!
If you try your hardest in your worst time of fear and adversity, if you push through as best you can even though the odds are stacked impossibly against you, if you fight like you are the greatest warrior ever to have lived...then you will never be a victim regardless of the outcome.
Being a victim is a state of mind and not a matter of trained skill. Adopt the mindset first, then train like mad!

What makes Izzo Training Systems different from other self defense programs?
Izzo Training Systems take pride in being unique from other self defense programs in that the approach and focus of training is on the student and not the attacker. Focusing on the attacker places studenst in "reactionary" or "defensive" mode. We want to become totally offensive at the first threat of an attack! By the mere assertion of presence, an attacker should have the notion that confronting us may not be such a good idea at all.
Students are educated on their body's natural abilities and movement. What works for them, and what does not. Izzo Training Systems uses concepts to reinforce techniques and vice versa. This training provides mental fortitude along with a solid base of physical skills.
